Apro thambi ena Pandreenga?

Apro thambi ena pandreenga?

It is the sentence that rings in the ears of youngsters who are facing the toughest phase in the life, searching for a job.

Adding to their obstacles, the people around them especially the relatives relax themselves conversing with the youngsters who are fighting hard in their career. The ridiculous part is that their attitude. They will behave as if they have earned two oil wells in Dubai through the hard work in business or as if they are working as a part of ISRO in the upcoming satellite launches. Sometimes they will make us think that Ambani should consider their marketing ideas before launching 5G mobile phones.

I currently face this situation after resigning from a Multi-national company recently. I observed various types among these interesting characters.

Let’s see who they are and the ways I use to tackle them. I am sure you can relate to all the below mentioned types with a person from your relatives circle. Go ahead and have fun!

1. Truly interested people who wish to know what we do.
This kind is rare and becoming extinct now-a-days. If we come across any such true hearts we should explain them clearly regarding our current situation, our ambition, our efforts towards that and anything we wish to share with them.
They may guide or help if their time and situation permits.

2. People who are curious to know our status and acting like that they will die if we don’t let them know.
This kind can be used as entertainment properties if you wish. We can say a job title or our dream business making them feel jealous on our career plan or path. If they irritate you again and again then follow the simple basic rule. “Confuse if you can’t convince.”
That’s easy and simple. When they ask you for the second time say that you are preparing to get a seat in IIT and for the third time say that you will score good in this year’s CAT and get a place in IIM. This should confuse people if they have some idea regarding engineering and management studies.

3. People who are like a river flowing on its own path.
These are harmless creatures. They talk, narrate and explain their own ideas and dreams irrespective of our answers. If you say that you want to become an expert in machine designing software then they will explain their dream to become a graphics designer in movies and the ways to achieve it. (That adukum idukum enada sambandam moment?!)
We can simply listen and try to catch up the best ideas from their non-stop flow of words that might be useful for our future career goals.

4. Beware of psychopaths.
This is the toughest and most irritating type to handle. The best response we can do is to SMILE. No other go.
I met an individual and told him that I resigned from a company. On hearing that, he got furious and started advising me as if I made a mistake resulting in a million dollar loss to his MNC. I tried explaining my reasons but he was not at all lending his ears. So finally I smiled and realized that it is very tough to cure this psychological illness unless providing a proper life education in the school days.

5. Investigation specialists.
This type will keep on asking questions making sure that we don’t have time to think and question them especially when their situation is pathetic than us.
This can be tackled easily. Just ask them a question related to their business. This will hit hard on their weakness and will definitely end their interrogative questions.

What you can do if you are a relative to such youngsters?
If you sincerely care about someone whom you are familiar with then try to meet them in a private outing. May be in a beach or a movie theatre or somewhere where they will have peace of mind. Give them free advice only when you know their personal situation thoroughly.

If you are a guest to a place where you went to achieve your personal goals then don’t start judging the youngsters and give them free ideas. You may not know the battle which they are fighting hard as a person or together as a family. If you need a topic for short talk then it’s better to go with weather or cricket or may be about Robot -2.0’s budget.

For the Youngsters who are facing these tough people around them:
Keep smiling and take care of your health which tops the all-time priority list. Stay focused on the goal if you have one or prepare a new goal now and make efforts to achieve it. Always keep in mind that once you win then these same lips will start praising you.
Money will make wonders. Be rich in your character as well as pockets so that you can earn both true and fake respects.
Let’s make this nation a beautiful place to live a peaceful and progressive life.
